Alumni Finalists for Excellence in Education Award
We are proud to announce two of our alumnae, BCHS Director of Academic Support, Beth Brogan, BCHS Class of 1986 and Alice Mattingly, St. Pius X Teacher, BCHS Class of 1975 have been named 2 of the 8 finalists for the Saint Theodora Excellence in Education Award. This is the highest honor for a Catholic educator in the Archdiocese.
Emily Stroble, ’06
Emily Stroble, class of 2006, helped produce a television show that’s been 3 years in the making, and the show’s season premiere debuted on October 6th on WFYI-PBS. The show is called “Family Travel” and is the first of it’s kind. Learn more and find local listing at www.familytravelck.com.
Dr. Betsy Groves-Egan, ’96, gives Sight to Hundreds in Panama
Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Groves-Egan, class of 1996, currently works as an ophthalmologist at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. Dr. Groves is able to spend a week every year, traveling to Guaymi, Panama and performing cataracts surgery on patients who travel for days to visit them. She and her team are providing sight for hundreds of patients at each trip, and in one case allowed a person to see their grandchild for the very first time!
Andrea (Kremer) Pomaranski, ’00
Andrea (Kremer) Pomaranski, class of 2000, is being inducted into the Miami University of Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame. Andrea was recognized as an All-American for Track in 2001 and 2003 and also in 2001 for Cross Country. She was also the Miami Athlete of the year in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Her induction as a part of the 45th class of athletes takes place on October 5.
