Ryan Moran ’00, Speaks to BCHS Student Body

Today Ryan Moran, class of 2000, spoke to the BCHS student body about being in the “POSSE” and how to “Swim against the Tide.” He emphasized the importance of being Positive, being Open, having Spirit, being Sincere and not Excluding others. Ryan has worked as a public speaker for 10 years and now has his own business as a youth motivational speaker. He has traveled to 43 states and presented to over a half a million students in that time, with his largest audience reaching 7,000.  He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and 11 month old son, P.J. Norma Powell Retires

Norma Powell, wife of the late Dick Powell, has retired after 45 years of service as a Labor and Delivery nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Charlie Cain, ’13, plays with Indianapolis Philharmonic

Charlie Cain, class of 2013, began playing the string bass halfway through his sophomore year at Bishop Chatard.  With the help of the BCHS band director Dan Haag and Charlie’s instructor David Murray, Charlie went on to receive gold at ISMA (Indiana State Music Association). Anna Hoefer, ’05, from CPA to Convent

Anna Hoefer, class of 2005, has decided to join the community of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. She begins life at the convent on September 1, 2013. Emmy Award Winner!

Barney Wood, Class of 1982, is proud to announce an Emmy WIN at the 2013 Emmy Celebration in Cleveland, OH! As the Founder and President of Wood Innovative Group, Barney took the stage to accept the award in the category of “Technical Director for a ‘Live’ production other than Sports.” He received the Emmy for his work as the Technical Director of The 2012 Hospice Concert featuring 3 Dog Night. Wood’s company has offices in Indianapolis and Southern Indiana.

Wood says “I thought I would share this accomplishment because Chatard is a BIG part of who I am today and my successes as an adult.”

Nolan Miller, ’11

#43 for Aurora University Men’s Lacrosse is Nolan Miller, class of 2011. Nolan and his team not only won the Midwest Lacrosse Conference championship, they also played in the NCAA Division 3  tournament and went to the Sweet 16!

Wenclewicz Insurance (Mark Wenclewicz ’98 and Scott Wenclewicz ’02) is excited to sponsor recent Bishop Chatard High School graduate Rob Dury (’13) in the 2013 Grange Insurance All-Star Classic! Dury will join with other top Indiana high school football players to compete in a north vs. south battle on July 19th at North Central High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the game annually benefit both Camp Riley, a camping facility near Martinsville designed specifically for children with physical disabilities, and the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

Kris Roney, ’88, is Track & Cross Country Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary member

At the 2013 IHSAA Track and Field Championship on May 31st, Kris Roney (1988), was recognized by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame as one of the 1st Silver Anniversary members. In reaction to the recognition Kris said, “I was honored to be a part of this special day as track will forever be a huge part of my life. My fellow recipients and I are hopeful that athletes of today ad all future athletes will continue to recognize the importance of this great sport.”

Class of ’73 Reunion

The Class of 1973, held their 40th reunion on June 22. They first had the opportunity to come to BCHS for a tour of the new facilities with Bill Sahm. They continued their gathering at Pinheads in Fishers. Through their reunion the class was able to make a generous contribution to the Richard J. Powell memorial fund. Thank you to the Class of 1973!
