Nolan Miller, ’11 & Dustin Rhodes, ’13, return to BCHS as players on university team

Nolan Miller, BCHS Class of 2011, is in his Senior Year at Aurora University and his final NCAA men’s lacrosse season. Nolan, and fellow teammate, Dustin Rhodes, BCHS Class of 2013, will once again play on their alma mater field as Aurora University will play Wittenberg at BCHS on Saturday, April 18th at 1:30pm, after our Trojan boys varsity game against MaterDei. Come watch two exciting games that day for both our BCHS Varsity squad game and then our college alums AU vs Witt game following.

Jeff Linehan, ’73, returns to BCHS as a coach

After a 27 year career with Merck & Co. pharmaceuticals, Jeff Linehan, Class of ’73’, retired in August 2014. In October 2014, he joined the BCHS Lady Trojans coaching staff as an assistant coach for the Freshmen Girls Basketball team. Jeff also enjoys writing and is the author of the Freshmen Girls Basketball recaps that are posted on the BCHS website.

Emily Schafer, ’10, receives Missionary of the Year Award

Congratulations to Emily Schafer, Class of 2010, who in April 2014 received the Saint Paul’s Outreach Student Missionary of the Year Award. Saint Paul’s Outreach is a national organization that promotes helping to bring authentic Catholic Faith alive on college campuses through the New Evangelization and in a particular way through relational evangelization. Emily served as a student Missionary for 3 years of college. She has just graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Education degree in Elementary Childhood Education and a Minor in Theology from Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio on 12/13/14.

Michael Annee, ’14, in college championship game

Our very own BCHS 2014 graduate Michael Annee is off to Daytona Beach as a member of the Marian University football team for the NAIA FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. The game will be played on Dec. 19, at 3pm EST.

Cathy Doyle, ’11, hits hole in one

On her first drive of the day at the Dayton Fall Invitational, the University of Evansville’s Cathy Doyle (BCHS Class of 2011) got a Hole-in-One. This was her 3rd hole-in-one but the first during tournament play. Cathy finished the tournament 13th out of 93 players as the ACES placed 6th out of 16 teams.

Alumni give back to Boys Lacrosse

As BCHS athletes look forward to spring boys lacrosse season, they have alumni nearby to guide and teach them! Under a new head coach Tim O-Shea, alumni Bob Graham, ’09, and Hank McDonough, ’09, are assistant coaches for the team next spring. Recently, the team participated in their first annual fall service event, a boys lacrosse tourney for grade school students, conducted at BCHS. The admission for the event was a toy, donated to the Toys for Tots program!
