Mary Grace Feeney, ’13: Photos in Bicentennial Book

As you browse through the upcoming official bicentennial commemorative book, INDIANA AT 200: A Celebration of the Hoosier State, you might notice a photo from Bishop Chatard graduate, Mary Grace Feeney. From among 6000 photos submitted for the book from 350 different contributors, one of her photos has been selected! Congratulations Mary Grace! Mary Grace is currently a junior at Marian U, studying Photography and Business. She will be spending a semester at the University of Richmond in London UK starting in January in their Fine Arts program. Mary Grace studied photography under BCHS teacher Tracy Luke, while she was at Bishop Chatard. Find out more about the book.

Jeff Linehan, ’73, coaches with Kacie, ’02

Basketball is back in the Linehan Family! In June 2015, Jeff Linehan, BCHS Class of ’73, was named JV Head Coach/Varsity Assistant by the new Girls Basketball Head Coach, Katie Fisher. His daughter, Kacie Linehan, Class of ’02, will join him as an assistant coach. Jeff was previously a coach on the BCHS Freshmen Girls Basketball staff. Welcome back to the Linehan’s!

Nick Martin, ’11, is captain at Notre Dame football

Congratulations to Nick Martin, BCHS Class of 2011, who has been chosen as one of the 5 captains of the University of Notre Dame football team for 2015! In 2014, Nick was named team captain in the fall and started all 13 games. He transitioned from center to guard after three games, then started the rest of the season at left guard. Sara Wagner, ’07, WANE-TV reporter

Did you notice someone familiar on CNN? Sara Wagner, BCHS Class of 2007, was the narrator/reporter on a piece on Bishop Dwenger high school teacher Jessica Hayes who consecrated herself to Jesus in a ceremony on Aug. 15, 2015. This piece was syndicated via CNN. Sara graduated from Purdue and has been a reporter at WANE-TV, Ft. Wayne since 2013.

Rachel Ward, ’11, leads in goals during the European Championship

Rachel Ward, BCHS Class of 2011, has 7 goals, the most on the Ireland team as of now, in play during the European Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The team went 2-1 in pool play, losing by 1 to Scotland on Aug. 8 – a very close game. They start championship bracket play Wednesday, Aug. 13. They will play England, the number 1 seed.

Barney Wood, ’82, wins 2nd Emmy Award

Congratulations to Barney Wood, BCHS Class of 1982, who was recently awarded his second Emmy! Wood, Founder and President of Wood Innovative Group, LLC received the honor at the 2015 Emmy Celebration in Indianapolis. Wood accepted the award in the Emmy category of “Crafts: Lighting – Studio and Location”. The award was for his set lighting for a show called Comcast Newsmakers. The set was in the Ft. Wayne Grand Wayne Center.

Rachel Ward, ’11, plays Lacrosse on Irish National Team

18 players were selected to represent Ireland at the 2015 Women’s European Lacrosse Championship, Aug. 6 – 16, 2015, and Rachel Ward, BCHS Class of 2011, was one of them! Rachel is finishing her final semester at Lock Haven University, and has helped the Lady Eagles advance to NCAA Div. II Final Four in 2014. She also has conducted Bishop Chatard Girls Lacrosse clinics and is coaching the Indy United Girls Lacrosse team, with some BCHS Lady Trojans on that team. Congratulations, Rachel!
